5 July 2023 in Zurich

The Impact Finance Conference (IFC) connects dedicated individuals from the financial world and the business community who share a common vision: to bridge the gap between the financial industry and a sustainable economy.

Where are there still unresolved challenges and which factors, along with capital, will become more and more important in the future? We wanted to inform, raise awareness and develop solutions to strengthen the Swiss financial system in the long term and at the same time help to make Switzerland fit for the future.

At the conference, 300 decision-makers from the financial industry, as well as thought leaders from business, science and politics, met in Zurich for a cross-sector exchange of knowledge.Together we found solutions for a strong Swiss financial centre and secure the livelihoods of future generations.

Around 25 experts from Switzerland and abroad provided inspiring food for thought for a sustainable financial centre and thus for a stable and sustainable Swiss economy. In various sessions, the participants would individually shape the conference and explore specific topics relating to the financial industry, entrepreneurship, investment and politics with experts in a smaller setting.

  • “We are convinced that the sustainable use of all resources creates more value in the long term. As an insurer, we are also directly affected by climate events. We have therefore been leading the way for years and want to encourage and support other companies on the path to a more sustainable future.”

    Daniel Gussmann
    Chief Investment Officer, AXA Switzerland

    Mark Haefele
Chief Investment Officer, UBS Global Wealth Management

“Be the change you wish to see”

We can all make a crucial difference. It is not just the content of the conference that pays heed to sustainability. There is also a focus on social responsibility and environmentalism in the planning of the event and of course at the event itself.

How we are playing our part:

  • We are offsetting our carbon emissions by investing in a sustainable development project
  • The circular economy meets fine cuisine, with the range of vegetarian, seasonal, local and innovative items
  • Exhibition materials will be recycled and reused over several years
  • Printed materials will be kept to a minimum and used over several years
  • We are striving for inclusivity

How you can play your part:

  • Take public transport
  • Help to offset the event’s carbon emissions – when registering for the event, you have the option of making a voluntary donation to a development project
  • To reduce plastic waste, water stations will be provided – bring your own refillable bottle or use one of the FILL ME bottles available at the event
